Captain
James Cook's Voyages to the Pacific Ocean from 1768 to 1779 provided
the first views of areas he explored from the coast of North America
and Asia southward through the Pacific to several islands including
Hawaii, Tahiti, Tonga, New Zealand, and Australia.
These historically important and artistic copper engraved masterpieces
were completed by John Webber who was the officially appointed artist
for Captain James Cook's third and final voyage. During this voyage
Captain Cook was killed by disgruntled natives. Webber's views of
Cook's final voyage were published in England. Some of these
large rare First Edition
prints are still available from Prints Old & Rare. NOTE: Several other later editions of Captain Cook prints are also available even though there are generally smaller published by different publishers. 1778 Copper Engraving. All original. No reproductions. * *Prints may have minor wrinkles and/or foxing stains. See pictures - Inquire for more detailed pictures if needed **
