009fish: 1859 Print: Fish near U.S./Mexico Border. Authentic professionally watercolored engraving. This attractive print is from the report of a U.S. Government surveying party, which was exploring the newly formed border between the United States and Mexico during the 1850's. The print shows two different species of freshwater fish that were found in that area. Also shown are scales from both types of fish. The print is in excellent condition, with modern hand coloring. Size is 9" x 11" $50
