1670 A. Kircher. Imperium Sinicum Quindecupartitum. Beautiful old map of China and Korea compiled by the Jesuit Father Martino Martini. The trading route between Canton and Peking is noted and the great wall and the Gobi Desert are pictured. Water colored copperplate engraving on handmade paper in excellent condition. 15 x 12" plus margins.

1887 Hand colored wood engraving featured in The London Graphic showing 12 vignette views of today's Samson District -- Islands off the Southern Coast. Title of page is, "Port Hamilton As It Is." Images show Port Hamilton, Corea, Which Might become an important Naval Arsenal and Coaling Station for Russia and Was Taken Possession of by England in 1885 -- It has now been Handed Over to China.
