200no: 1878: Yellow Fever in New Orleans, Memphis. Engraved scenes from the Sept. 28, 1878 issue of Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper, showing the effects of a Yellow Fever outbreak in the cities of New Orleans, LA and Memphis, TN. At center is a view of Canal Street in New Orleans, which is deserted except for a few hearses carrying bodies to the cemeteries. Around the edges there are small scenes showing the agonizing deaths of people in both cities. 16x22 in.

Large, hand-colored engraving from The Soldier in Our Civil War, an illustrated history of the Civil War which was published by the Frank Leslie Co. in 1884. Title of the scene is "Panoramic View of New Orleans: The Federal Fleet at Anchor in the River, April 25, 1862." Shows a beautiful bird’s eye view of the city, printed from a sketch that was made in 1862 by a Leslie’s artist. 16x22 in. $200
