002paci: 1904 Map of New Guinea. Interesting color map of New Guinea from a 1904 world atlas. The main island and smaller surrounding islands are divided into British, German and Dutch possessions. A key at the top of the map image gives the population and area in square miles of each country’s colonial holding. 13x18 in. $30



004paci: 1831 Map of Polynesian Islands. Engraved map of Polynesia by J. and C. Walker, published as an illustration to a book in 1831. The name of each island is shown next to its location. The Eastern half of Australia is included, labeled as "Terra Australis." 9x11 in. $50

016paci: 1838 Bradford Map of the Pacific Basin. Fascinating map, with original hand coloring, from T.G. Bradford’s famous world atlas of 1838. This map is from the 1846 printing of the atlas, and the phrase "corrected to 1846" appears below the bottom border. Each continent around the Pacific is colored separately. Island groups are shown as well. Hawaii is labeled as the Sandwich Islands. 13x17 in. $200



017paci: 1769 Map of Tahiti from Cook Expedition. Beautifully hand colored map of Tahiti, printed in the late 1700s as an illustration to the report on Captain Cook’s voyage to the Pacific. Title of the map is "Carte de L’Isle de Taiti, par le Lieutenant J. Cook, 1769." Geographical features are shown, and the names of villages are marked throughout the island. Map is in excellent condition, printed on hand laid paper. 10x17 in.

018paci: 1875 Map of Pacific Islands, Australia. Interesting, hand colored map of Oceania, drawn by Keith Johnston and published in 1875. Covers an area from Malaysia in the west to Hawaii (called the Sandwich Islands) in the east. Map is quite detailed, with even the smallest islands named. Australia is divided into provinces, with each area colored separately. New Zealand is included as well. 14x20 in. $60



020paci: ca.1675 View: Batavia Indonesia. Beautifully hand colored, decorative scene, printed circa 1675 by an English publisher. Artist’s name not shown. Title is "The Slaughter House of Batavia." The city of Batavia is now Jakarta, Indonesia. Boats are shown in the canals of the city, bringing cattle and sheep to the slaughterhouse. Excellent condition. 14x17 in. $250



200paci: 1833 Map of Indian Ocean Islands. Interesting, engraved map of the islands in the Indian Ocean, published in 1833 by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge (SDUK). Islands are colored with original outline hand coloring. Statistics on population and economy are printed next to each island. Left margin is trimmed to map border, but the image is not affected. 13x16 in. $150
