200phl: RARE Map of Tawitawi Island, Philippines. This is a very large, detailed map of the island of Tawitawi, which is part of the Sulu Archipelago in the southern Philippines. The map was drawn in 1934, and published by the US Coast and Geodetic Survey in 1942. Water depths around the island are scrupulously marked. On the island itself, and the small islands surrounding it, the locations of towns and harbors are shown. Notations on the islands tell the type of countryside that is found there. Most of them are labeled as "densely wooded," or covered with "dense jungle." Map is in excellent condition, with no tears, stains or other blemishes. 34x46 in. $60
