017sam: 1885 Print: Revolution in Colombia. This engraved print is from the April 18, 1885 issue of Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper. The print is titled "United States of Colombia - Burning of Colon by Revolutionists, March 31st 'Scene on B Street.'" It shows a large mob storming down the street, while smoke rises from the buildings. This print is in excellent condition, with no tears, stains or other blemishes. Size is 11x16 in. A genuine antique print produced in 1885, NOT a reproduction!

018sam: 1821 Map of South America. Authentic original watercolored engraving. This beautiful map of South America was drawn by E. Paguenaud, and published in Lavoisne’s Historical Atlas of 1821. The map shows the political divisions of the continent as they looked shortly after independence (quite different than they are today). On either side of the map image there is text describing the history, geography and populations of all the major countries. 18" x 21" $200
100sam: 1862 Johnson Map of South America. Hand colored, engraved map of the South American continent, from the 1862 edition of Johnson’s Family Atlas. Major cities are shown throughout the continent, as well as in the Caribbean basin to the north. In the oceans, routes of famous explorers are traced with dotted lines. A small inset image of Cape Horn is in the lower right corner. The entire map image is surrounded by a decorative border. 18x26 in. $100
101sam: 1838 Bradford Map of South America. Fascinating map, with original hand coloring, from T.G. Bradford’s famous world atlas of 1838. This map is from the 1846 printing of the atlas, and the phrase "corrected to 1846" appears below the bottom border. Each country on the continent is colored separately. Cities and geographical features are shown as well. 13x17 in. $200
102sam: 1798: Patagonia South America Natives. Copper engraved image, printed on hand laid paper. Published in 1798 as an illustration to Alexander Hogg’s edition of Captain Cook’s voyage to the Pacific. Title of the scene is "A Woman and Boy of Patagonia in South America, Receiving Beads etc. From Commodore (now Admiral) Byron, Whose Celebrated Voyage Round the World (as well as All the Other Modern Discoveries in the Southern and Northern Hemispheres) will be Inserted in this Work." The woman receiving the beads is much taller than the man who is offering them. 9x15 in. $70

Hand colored copper engraving from the 1794 edition of Baldwyn’s New System of Geography, titled "View of the Indians of Terra Del Fuego, with a Representation of a Hut, and their Domestic Mode of Living." Shows a native family inside their hut, gathered around a fire. 9x15 in. $125
104sam: Large Antique Map of South America: RARE. This is a beautiful map of colonial South America. It was drawn in 1754 by R.W. Seale, and titled "A Map of South America With all the European Settlements & whatever else is remarkable from the latest and best Observations." Cities, rivers and mountains are all shown, as well as the "Great Road of the Incas." The entire continent is divided into European colonies, and some areas are marked as "Unknown Parts." This map has been beautifully hand colored, and would look fantastic in a frame! There are no tears or stains at all. Some of the ocean areas have a "ghost" image on them, where the map was originally folded onto itself, but it is not visually distracting. 16x20 in.

201sam: Antique Peru Scene: Lima Residents, Animals. Beautifully hand colored, engraved view of the Peruvian countryside, printed in 1770. Shows a man and woman wearing the latest fashions from Lima, as well as typical mulatto women and a Negro servant. In the foreground, there are three animals: a huanaco, a llama and an alpaca. This item is in very good condition. The right margin is cut very close to the image border, but the image is not affected. 9x14 in.
