"A View of the Whale-Fishery, and the manner of Killing-Bears near and on the Coast of Greenland." 1780 Hand colored, copper engraving. Showing several ships and about a dozen longboats with men harpooning whales. On shore, a small group of hunters are attacking a Polar Bear and others are shooting at bears from a boat.

200whl: 1876 Whaling Fleet Stuck in Arctic Ice. Hand colored engraving from the November, 1876 edition of Harper's Weekly, titled "Arctic Perils, The Recent Disaster to the Whaling Fleet". Contains three scenes, each with its own caption: the fleet enclosed in the ice pack, the camp on a grounded iceberg, and escape of the bark "Florence".  11x16 in. $50
