1917 Fencing Underwear Ad. Full-page ad for Varsity Union Suit underwear, featuring an underwear-clad man holding a sword in a fencing position. Text of the ad states that Union Suit is the "Active Man's Underwear."

1864 Fencing: Wounded Man After Fight. Engraved image from the Illustrated London News, titled "After the Brawl." Shows a wounded man lying on the floor, with his sword-wielding opponent standing by him. Playing cards are scattered around them. Based on a painting by John Gilbert.

1869 Nast Print: Animals Fencing. Unusual engraving by Thomas Nast, printed in the July 17, 1869 issue of Harper's Weekly. Title is "After the Spat." Creatures with human bodies and animal heads are shown, immediately after a duel. A character with a duck's head has just been wounded, and his opponent is walking away. The duck's friends (a bear and two dogs) are gathered around
him anxiously.
