1855 J. H. Colton original hand colored engraved map showing Florida with an inset showing the Plan of the Florida Keys. Colton was among the earliest map makers with very accurate maps depicting cities and states

EARLY CAREY & LEA MAP OF HISPANIOLA. Stunning old hand colored engraving, "Hispaniola or Saint Domingo" by Carey & Lea, produced in 1822. 'Hayti' comprises the western 1/3 of the Island. Much informational text is included on soil, climate, waterways, civil divisions and population, chief towns, commerce, education, religion, government, military. Also includes a historical sketch.
A genuine antique. *Lower middle fold has been mended.

1888: Yellow Fever Outbreak in North Florida. Hand colored engraving from the German language edition of Leslie's Weekly, Oct. 6, 1888. Shows a young woman stricken suddenly by yellow fever on a train car. Other passengers are frantically trying to run from her, to avoid contracting the disease. Excellent condition. 11x16 in.

1855 Land Survey Map of Florida. Shows the state divided into several hundred numbered plats, some of which are marked with an 'S' to state that they had been fully surveyed, and some with a 'T' suggesting that they had only been surveyed externally. Also labels several important Seminole War Forts including Fort Bassinger, Fort Center, Fort Thompson, Fort Beynaud, Fort Adams, and others. Notes the everglades, Big Cypress, Fort Lauderdale, Lake Okeechobee, and many of Florida's lakes and river systems.
