006gib: This print shows Catalan Bay which is located on the East side of the Rock of Gibraltar. This view shows the fishing village that was originally settled in the bay by Genoese Fishermen. 12.5 x 9.5in $40



007gib: Beautiful engraving showing the Rock of Gibraltar with Spain in the background. The perspective is from the fortress at the top of the rock looking down into the bay. 12.5 x 9.5in. $30



008gib: This view shows GIbraltar in the far distance while standing in the magnificent castle, Castillo del Aguila (Eagle's Castle) which dates from the Roman era and was later expanded by the Arabs into a fortress. Gaucin is a spectacularly beautiful mountain village commanding sweeping views to Gibraltar. The village is perched on the crest of the Sierra del Hacho. 12.5 x 9.5 in. $30



009gib: Ronda is one of Andalucia's loveliest towns. It stands on a towering plateau in the mountains of Malaga Province, and is famous through Spain for the plunging river gorge which divides the medieval from the 18th century parts of the town. This gorge is known as El Tajo.  The Cliff and is spanned by a stone bridge, which once housed a prison. This print shows the view from the top of the bridge looking down into the city of Ronda and the surrounding countryside. 12.5 x 9.5 in. $30 

 
010gib: This print shows the famous stone bridge that spans El Tajo - The Cliff in Ronda with it's waterfall from the RIver Guadalevin. This bridge once housed a prison. The bridge is still standing today and is quite a tourist attraction.Ronda is part of the Andalucia section of Spain. 12.5 x 9.5 in. $40

011gib: O'Hara's Tower is the subject of this print. The tower is located on Gibraltar and is on Wolf's Crag near South Sugar Loaf Hill (Buena Vista). O~Haras Tower (1408 ft.), is the highest point of the Rock. Built for the surveillance of the Spanish at Cadiz. Since Cadiz was fifty-eight miles away, the tower was also known as O'Hara's Folly. 12.5 x 9.5 in. $30



012gib: The North Front of the Rock of Gibraltar is shown here with an early ox-pulled machine. On the rock you can see caves dug out on the side of the hill as well as the fortress at the top. 12.5 x 9.5 in. $30



013gib: The Old Mole is what is shown in this print. The breakwater - or Mole - is across the harbor which is filled with boats. The fortress is in the background. The boats in the foreground are felluccas. 12.5 x 9.5 in. $30



014gib: This view is from Harper's Weekly in July of 1877 and is titled, The Rock of Gibraltar - The Neutral Ground, Viewed From The Spanish Frontier." It is a very nice 1/2 page wood engraving which shows the Rock in the distance towering out of the sea. 16 x 11 in. $30



015gib: Gleason's Pictorial Drawing-Room Companion contained this page about Gibraltar. The text is about the Fortress of Gibraltar and the wood engraving at the bottom of the page is titled, "View of the Celebra D Stronghold or Fortress of Gibraltar" with ships in the bay and the Rock in the background. 16 x 11 in. $30



016gib: 1853 black and white page from the Illustrated News showing the removal of the wreck of the Steamer Missouri at Gibraltar. The top wood engraving shows a cross-cut of above and below sea level with the divers preparing to raise the wreck. The text explains that the steamer was burned to the water's edge while lying at anchor in Gibraltar Bay in 1843. The position of the wreckage created a hazard for navigating the Bay so the United States was asked to remove it. 14.5 x 10 in. $40



017gib: This black and white print from approximately 1895 shows the Bay of Gibraltar with the city and its harbor. Text below gives a short description of Gibraltar. 11 x 13 in. $30


019gib: Lovely black and white steel engraving of Gibraltar. In the foreground are fishing boats and people bringing supplies ashore, possibly from a ship in the bay.The engraving is marked Philadelphia, N.A.B. I.. There is a mark in the left margin from a tissue cover once attached. 7 x 10.5 in. $40



020gib: This print contains three views of Gibraltar and is titled, "The Passing of Gibraltar as an Impregnable British Fortress." The three prints are individually titled, "Gibraltar from the 'Queen of Spain's Chair' - The Spanish town of Linea is in the foreground - the British lines are close to the Rock", "Gibraltar from Europa Point - the British Lion couchant seen on approaching from the Mediterranean", and "The gate to the fortifications near the Old Mole (breakwater), with the Moorish market in the foreground." 11 x 16 in. $30

Condition: Very good with adequate margins more than 160 years old.
